Everyone should be able to find and order what they need at GLOSSDOC – with a mouse, keyboard, screen reader or by phone. What we have put in place for this is listed below, and so is what is still missing. If you come across a barrier, write to us – we will fix it.

Our commitment

As the operator of an online shop for consumers, we are required by the German Accessibility Strengthening Act (Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz, BFSG) to make our service accessible. The benchmark is EN 301 549 and therefore WCAG 2.1, level AA.

This information is based on a self-assessment: we reviewed the shop against the requirements and record here what is met and what is not.

What is in place

  • Keyboard accessible. The menu, search, filters, cart and forms can all be used without a mouse. A skip link at the top of the page takes you straight to the content.
  • Structure for screen readers. Headings, lists and navigation areas are marked up as such, and form fields and icon buttons have labels. The page language is set correctly (German, or English on the English pages).
  • Expandable content without tricks. The FAQs use the browser’s built-in disclosure elements – they work with a keyboard and screen reader, even without JavaScript.
  • Calm presentation. If you have enabled “Reduce motion” in your operating system, the ticker below the header is shown without animation. Videos only start when you click them.
  • Zoom and narrow screens. The pages adapt to the window width and can be zoomed in the browser without having to scroll sideways.
  • Products in words. Name, contents, price and unit price are shown as text for every product – photos add to this but are never the only source.

Known limitations

  • Checkout and customer account. Payment, order overview and addresses are handled by Shopify. We do not design these pages ourselves; we pass on any barriers there to Shopify. In the meantime, we will also take any order by phone or email.
  • Embedded content. The withdrawal form (EU withdrawal button) and YouTube videos come from third-party providers, and the form is only available in German. If you cannot use the form, you can declare your withdrawal informally by email or post.
  • No external audit yet. This information is based on a self-assessment against the standard, not on a test by an independent body.

Ordering without the website

We accept orders, product questions and withdrawals by phone and email just as we do in the shop – and on request we will read out a product’s details to you.

Report a barrier

If something doesn’t work for you, please let us know – ideally with the page, the device and what went wrong. We will get back to you within five working days. Until it is fixed, you can get information or place your order in whatever way works for you.
