What the film is about

The GLOSSDOC 2K Clear Coat Gloss delivers a brilliant high gloss on wheels, bodywork and smart repair – made in Germany. That is what the film is about. “2K” stands for two-component: paint and hardener are in one can and react chemically once activated. This creates a scratch-resistant, durable surface that withstands brake dust, moisture and mechanical stress. The acrylic clear coat adheres to GLOSSDOC 1K base coats and common automotive base coats.

Once activated, the pot life starts: the can must be used within a limited time, and exactly how long is stated on the label. For a single touch-up the 200 ml can is often enough; the 500 ml can is intended for several wheels or larger areas.

Step by step

1. Key the surface and degrease it thoroughly.
2. Apply the base coat and let it flash off as stated on its label.
3. Only now activate the can and shake it thoroughly.
4. Spray a thin first coat, then further coats in overlapping passes.
5. Let each coat flash off before the next.
6. Let the paint cure fully in a dust-free place before putting it under strain.

Tip: Only work in a well-ventilated area and wear gloves, safety glasses and a respirator with a suitable filter.
